📸 WordCamp took place for the tenth year in a row in Vienna, and I was a speaker. I took a selfie after my presentation to document the moment. My talk was titled When proven web design methods no longer work. You’ll hear about it soon.

🌍 280 people attended the second day of the conference. After presenting, I felt a mix of gratitude, relief, and excitement. Gratitude for the community, relief to be done since I felt the responsibility to present something valuable and actionable even more than in past events due to the fact that attendees had paid to participate, and excitement for the conversations that followed and what’s to come.

📰 The conference took place at the University of Vienna campus. The building has existed since the 17th century, and it was first converted by Emperor Joseph II into the General Hospital, before being turned into the campus of today. It was amazing to present in such a culturally significant spot. A day before my birthday, too!

🎹 I presented in a lecture hall that had a piano. I don’t know if this is common in universities here, but since music is special to me, I chose to take it as a good omen.

🎤 Christina said the conference was packed with great lectures and workshops, and that “Delfina presented interesting use cases where she decided against UX best practices.” Kamilla, the wonderful volunteer who helped ensure everything went smoothly, mentioned me as a “…genuinely inspiring speaker.” Yevhen vlogged the whole experience, in case you’re interested in what a Viennese WordPress conference looks like. I make an appearance around 7:54.

Thank you to all the attendees, organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and speakers for making Word Camp Vienna 2026 so special!

Ebook update: Every attendee got a special password to access an advanced free copy of my new ebook, A Beginner’s Guide to Intuitive Information Architecture.

I was thrilled to connect in person at WordCamp, learn from others, and share my free 30-page resource based on lessons learned leading over 30 IA projects.

Excited to start getting their initial feedback in the upcoming days and share the final version with you all!
